At long last, we were finally able to move our newly finished tables and chairs into the kitchen nook:
Don’t they look pretty? The end result is definitely an improvement from how they looked before.
Here’s a shot with the red hutch in the background. As you can see, it doesn’t particularly match. But I’m happy nonetheless.
Here’s a little update since I first started this series: my kids (who can be hooligans) chipped the paint a little. They were play-sword fighting one day over lunch and even though I interceded, it wasn’t in time. The chips were very small and I was able to touch them up with—what else? Sharpie. Even though it ended up not being a huge deal, I kind of freaked out. Not on the kids. But I did cry a little. Yeah, I admit it. Anyway, I think we are going to get a piece of glass cut and put it over the table top so I don’t have to live with the constant fear of it chipping.
Anyhow, there you have it. I’m so glad that the table and chairs are finished and that we have them back in our kitchen!
