Like most kids these days, my kids are a little Frozen obsessed. Because my daughter loves helping me in the kitchen so much (and because the Quick and Dirty Apron was such a hit), I thought it would be really fun to make her a Princess Anna-inspired apron.
This is the pattern I used: Simplicity 2295. And guess what? I’m starting to actually like patterns. Can you believe it? My projects just seem to turn out so nicely when I use them! I made a few small modifications to the pattern and ended up with this:
I am so pleased with out it turned out! To be honest, I went back and forth over how fancy I wanted to make it. In the end, I decided simple was better and I think it was a good choice. It washes well and I don’t mind it getting dirty (which is good, because aprons are meant to get dirty!)
One of the things I really like about it is how the “skirt” wraps around most of the waist, making it look and feel like a real skirt.
And here is my very silly girl wearing it while helping me make cookies.
This is the kind of thing that happens when I ask her to smile.
I mentioned earlier how she prefers our Quick and Dirty Apron to this one, but she has finally warmed up to the Anna Apron too. Which is nice, because I love to see her in it. Fun for both daughter and mommy!
