Today I’m continuing my series on using color in your makeup routine! This week’s look is piggy-backing off of last week’s look, but even though they’re similar, I didn’t want to leave it out! This is one of those looks that gets compliments from random strangers, and whenever that happens, the look is definitely a winner (in my mind, at least).
This look (like last week’s) uses color-as-liner, but instead of just lining the top lid with one color, I used two.
Pretty simple, really.
After creating a very, very light “no makeup” eye, I wet my Sigma E05 brush and lined my top lids with Chaos (which looks a lot lighter in this picture than it actually is). I then rinsed my brush and applied Savage right above the line of Chaos. Note: Savage is not approved by the FDA for use in the immediate eye area. Use at your own discretion.
And that’s pretty much it!
Super-zoom on my eye.
I really struggled with pictures this week. I was completely exhausted (having just gotten back from a fun, but tiring trip with the kiddos) and I didn’t have the strength to channel my inner Tyra. Sorry to disappoint (ha!)
Other products I used:
I used the Naked Skin as my foundation. As much as I like the BareSkin, it is quite finicky and doesn’t look quite right when everything with my skin isn’t just-so. So I’ve been turning back to my Naked Skin more and more lately. For my blush I used Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Achiote. My mascara is Mally’s Black Volumizing Mascara (and holy hot dog, do I love this stuff!) and I used another Mally product for my lips as well. It is her High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Starburst. As you can see, I kept the rest of my face very neutral. The not-so-great lighting in the pictures washes out what little color I had on the rest of my face but again, sooooo tired. Next week will have better pictures, pinky-promise.
So there you go! I really, really like layering colors-as-liners because it gives your eye an extra-special pop that you don’t see every day. And of course, you don’t have to stick to blue and pink. The sky is the limit with this one!
Are you getting a little more excited about using colors? I sure hope so! Next week we’ll start branching out into using colored shadows for your entire lid. Until then, be brave and keep experimenting!
Have a great Monday!
