Holy cow. Can you say excitement?!? I have been wild with it (excitement, that is) ever since Urban Decay announced that they were releasing a Vice 3 palette a few weeks ago. And yesterday it finally landed at Ulta (I insisted on buying from there so I could use my rewards points). You better believe that I hauled two of my three children down to the store so I could be sure to get my hands on one. My littlest man cub fell asleep on the ride to Ulta and boy, was he cranky when we got there! My favorite cashier rang me up and said, “Oh, we just got these in today!” and I said, “That’s why I’m here!” and I wanted to add, “Why else would I drag two kids here in the middle of the day?!?”
Anyhow, the hassle of going to Ulta in the middle of the day was totally worth it. I have NOT been disappointed!
If you recall, I have been an avid fan of the Vice 2 since I added that to my collection a year ago. I lo-ove the Vice 2 and wasn’t sure anything could ever top it. But the Vice 3 may have done just that.
Let’s take a look, shall we?
Even the case is pretty. *Swoon* It also comes with a little bag that just so happens to be the perfect size for your tablet. Or makeup brushes. Or whatever else you want to tote around!
But enough about the case…
Take a look at these colors! You may or may not remember that I am a color addict. I LOVE wearing color and these particular colors are fabulous!
In our first column we have Truth, Undone, Downfall, and DTF. These shades are more neutral and just plain pretty. Perfect for a day look or even a no makeup look.
In column two we have some lovely bold colors: Dragon, Freeze, Heroine, and Brokedown. I’ve always been a fan of Damaged from the Vice 2 palette, but I’m in LOVE with Dragon. It really pops and is so gorgeous on. And I can’t wait to play around with Freeze. I love me some bright blue!
Next in line are Vanity, Lucky, Reign, and Bobby Dazzle. Lucky is a really different (for me) color but I was drawn to it as soon as I swatched it! And Bobby Dazzle…in the palette is looks very white, but on the skin it is much more subtle and pretty. I’m already thinking of some wintery eye looks with this one!
I’ll admit, column four scares me a wee bit: Alien, Alchemy, Bondage, and Sonic. I don’t do a lot of pinks. They look weird on me. But these are really pretty and I can’t wait to experiment with them. Also, I don’t know what happened with the lighting, but Sonic looks more orangey in this picture than I think it actually is. So sorry about that.
And last but not least, we have another more neutral row: Last Sin, Angel, Defy, and Revolver. And believe me, these neutrals are a-ma-zing! Definitely worth having in your collection!
I haven’t had a ton of time to come up with different looks, but I did get to play around with it a little.
A marginally better serious look than some I’ve done in the past, but I’m still working on getting a good look consistently!
See what I mean about Dragon? So pretty. This is another of my standard colorful-but-conservative looks. I applied Dragon heavily to my lid, a bit of Vanity to the crease, and Revolver to the outer corner. I blended Vanity really well so it wouldn’t look too purple-crazy.
My initial thoughts: love, Love, LOVE this palette. As with all things Urban Decay, the shadows are really-super pigmented and of course they are gorgeous! I love the variety in this palette as well. The neutrals are really pretty and soft, while the colors are ones that will definitely make your look pop! It has a nice combination of matte and shimmery shades as well. And I don’t know if you counted or not but it has 20 shades! This retails for $60.00 and to get that many shadows is a killer deal.
I expect that this is a palette I’ll be turning to over and over again. I definitely cannot wait to play around with it some more!
And now, are you ready? I am so very excited to announce my first-ever giveaway!
