Want to know a secret? I have a small obsession with Tarte blushes. I absolutely LOVE them, and I seriously can’t get enough!
My obsession started a couple years ago. I went to Ulta to find some BB cream and one of the Tarte makeup artists was there. She put some BB cream on me and then added a little of Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush (Exposed) on and my world was forever changed.
Tarte blushes are just awesome. There’s no other way around it. While wearing their blushes, I have had multiple random strangers approach me in the middle of a store and compliment me on my blush or want to know more about it. This has happened on more than one occasion. They’re that pretty! They are VERY highly-pigmented (a must in my book) and yep, they really do last 12 hours. Or close to it. I’ve never checked my watch that closely. If you are in the market for a good blush, then you should seriously consider one of Tarte’s. They are simply amazing.
Exposed is still my favorite blush color. But I’m always on the lookout for some runners-up! And when I saw saw the Tarte Chic to Cheek collection, I knew I was in luck! This is a collection of four limited-edition blushes and the collection is gorgeous!
Pretty, right? I put them in alphabetical order to make it easier for myself. Amour, the first one, is a soft, kind of cotton-candy pink. The second one, Classic, has a more peachy hue. The third one is Daydream, and it is quite dark and rosy-hued. It is probably my least-favorite of the four, just because I don’t wear blush that dark generally. The last one is Prim, and it is my favorite of the bunch—I think because it reminds me of Exposed! Ha! Prim is a more nude pink, and it is very soft and pretty. I think it would look great on a lot of people with different skin tones and hair colors (same with Exposed).
I actually decided to compare two from the collection to Exposed (which is a part of Tarte’s permanent blush collection). On the far left in the pictures you have Prim (from the Chic to Cheek collection), followed by Exposed, then Classic (also from the Chic to Cheek line) and then Exposed again, as a cheek stain. I think you can see some similarities, but when I saw them right next to one another, I was amazed at how different they actually are!
Not the greatest picture of me, but here I am after a day of wearing Prim. I love this shade, and I definitely think it is probably my new second-favorite.
Okay, so let’s talk nitty-gritty: this collection costs $35.00, which I think is awesome. You get these four blushes that are each .05 oz. (Their regular Amazonian-clay blushes are .2 oz and cost $26.00, to give you a frame of reference). These are limited-edition, so if you want them, you’d better grab them before it’s too late!
I, for one, have been wearing one of these blushes every day since I got them a little over a week ago. If I wear nothing else, I try to brush on a little BB cream and a little blush and it is amazing how much the blush brightens up my whole look! I love how these blushes really do last and I definitely love how I feel wearing them.
It’s that time of year when makeup brands release their limited-edition stuff and I, for one, love it! What makeup items do you have on your wish list?
Have a great Monday!
